Updated on 08 Aug 2025, 12:27 PM IST

Understanding the SAT exam syllabus for Indian students is fundamental for effective practice and preparation of the exam. The SAT syllabus includes two main sections - Reading and Writing, and Math sections. The Reading and Writing section of the SAT assesses reading comprehension, grammar, and language usage of the test takers. Whereas, the Math section analyses algebra, problem-solving, data analysis, advanced math topics, and geometry/trigonometry. The Reading and Writing section is 64 minutes long and the Math section is 70 minutes long. The SAT Exam is 2 hours and 14 minutes. Both sections of the SAT test utilize an adaptive format. The first module of each section contains a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Your performance in module 1 decides how hard the questions in module 2 will be. If you do well, module 2 is harder, and if you do not do well, module 2 is easier. The SAT exam is now fully digital. The new SAT 2025 exam syllabus is structured in such a way that it offers 43% more time for each question in comparison to the older SAT version. In addition, The SAT Digital Reading & Writing (RW) Section includes 54 questions, whereas the SAT Digital Math Section includes 44 questions, leading to a total of 98 questions. The SAT exam offers a 10-minute break between the two sections of the test. The duration of the SAT exam 2025 is 2 hours and 14 minutes. This article provides a detailed breakdown of the SAT syllabus covering key subjects and exam patterns.
