Questions related to MCAT

Have a question related to MCAT ?

Hi there.

Yes, admissions committees for medical schools consider your MCAT score, as well as your academic record and supporting materials, to assess your foundation for a successful medical career.

While your MCAT score is a crucial application component, it does not determine your prospects of acceptance. This is why, if you apply wisely, you may get into medical school with a low MCAT score.

Hello Aspirant,

COMEDK UGET is a state-level exam administered by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) for access to undergraduate courses.

The COMEDK UGET exam is available to all candidates of Indian nationality.

COMEDK exam cannot earn you admission to Medical Colleges.

It was legislated by the HRD Ministry in 2015–2016 noting that only NEET will be evaluated as a reliable examination for admission to any medical college in the country.

Hence, no medical colleges are under COMEDK.

Hence, you have to appear for the NEET exam for your medical career.

I hope it helps.

Thank you.

NEET is the entrance examination for admission to MBBS,BDS, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. NEET is also a mandatory examination for studying MBBS abroad. MCAT is the requisite for for foregn Countries but NEET is the requisite for India. So even if you appear for MCAT, you should  mandatorily appear for NEET. You should qualify in NEET to study MBBS/BDS abroad. Your NEET score is valid for 3 years if you want to study MBBS/BDS abroad. And So to be eligible for NEET, you should have completed your 12th, passed in all subjects and secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST. Now if you belong to OBC Category, the Category you belong to should be also listed in the Central OBC list. Or else you will be considered as General Category and so you have to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This 50% is inclusive of the Theory and Practical marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology collectively. You needn't score 50% in Physics, 50% in Chemistry and 50% in Biology separately. You need an aggregate of 50% or 40% depending on your Category as an aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. And along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you should also have studied English as one of the core subjects in your 12th.

hey,

if you are intended to pursue your career in field of allopathic, ostteopathic ,podiatric and veterinary then you may apply for MCAT test ,if you are from US or Canada then you must having Under graduate degree to fulfill the eligibility criteria.

good luck!

Hi,

Well as far as I know then a student need to complete a bachelor's degree with the pre medicine track in order to eligible for medical school and then they take MCAT for admission in medical courses. Diploma is not appropriate and you need the pre med track of course.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.
